Feral Ogryns: Progress So Far

Hi All,

After faffing around trying to decide on a force, switching between Renegades and Heretics (too many bodies) and Legion (too many rules) I decided to finally settle on Ogryns. The list available, though accurate to fluff, lacked options and didn't really feel up to scratch, so I did what I always do: make it up as I go along!

A few minor changes have been implemented, such as allowing Leaders more weapon options (close combat only, befitting my own narrative) and changing istances of "Power Maul" on the Bullgryn Champion and Bullgryns to "Power Weapons". The story is going to involve the Ogryns siding with the forces of Chaos, so look forward to that!

I'll show the models in more detail when painted, but here is my initial 250 point force.

Here they are in full: a pair of Bullgryns with Slab Shields and Grenadier Gauntlets, a Bullgryn Leader with Power Axe, a Gun Lugger with Autocannon and an Ogryn Hound (or "Dogryns", as we seem to have taken to calling them).

The Bullgryns have been converted from a variety of parts, starting with a base of Ogre Kingdoms and using the blunderbuss pistol and leg plate guards from the Beastclaw Raiders Mournfang Pack (donated by my bitz dealer, Paolo Trepiccione). They are armoured in a variety of bitz from all over, primarily Killa Kans but there's a lot more there.

The Bullgryn Leader started with a 40K Ogryn fitted out as a Bullgryn. The arms and power weapon are Ogre Kingdoms, but from there i'll let you play a game of 'Spot the Bit', there's a lot going on. The Gun Lugger is also an Ogryn, with a custom Autocannon I will cover at a later date and a trophy pack covered in heads from aeons (and campaigns) past. The Dogryn is a Hound Of Xaphan from Forge World, currently on a temporary base until fitted with a larger Cavalry one.

For today, that's it! We have played a few practice games (four so far, ALL of which were lost, much to my genuine enjoyment). I'm planning to get them painted up for our first real games on the 25th (three weeks from this post), during which plenty of photos will be taken and a battle report written up. Look forward to that, and until then, happy gaming!
